Biography

Carl Smyth has set up a new company called Fireberry. We design and build hand crafted playzones for childhood and beyond.

I have been creatively designing and making for over 15 years. I have a degree in sculpture, studied traditional furniture construction and completed bespoke furniture commissions. I have worked as a scenic carpenter building theatre props and sets for west end London theatres, and on a variety of film and TV set projects at Pinewood and Elstree studios as construction foreman.

Last summer I escaped London life with my wife and young family and returned to Scotland. The Kingdom of Fife is our new home and where Fireberry is setting up our second larger workspace.
